Requirements:

- iTunes installed on your PC;
- The. Ipsw of iOS4.2.1 iPhone 4 saved on your computer
- The latest version of TinyUmbrella downloaded from official website
Upgrade Guide:
1. Connect your iPhone to your computer2. TinyUmbrella Once installed, start it and then make sure your device is connected and detected and that the certificate for SHSH iOS 4.2.1 has been successfully saved on the server Saurik. In case you had not already done so, however, saved the ECID IOS 4.2.1 by clicking the "Save SHSH";
3. Click "Start Server TSS. If you do not get any error messages you can proceed, otherwise you will try again to start the TSS server. NOT continue to follow the guide if you are not sure that the TTS Server is started or update the baseband! Once done, leave open for the duration TinyUmbrella process;
4. Open iTunes and click Restore while holding the button on your keyboard Shuft;
5. Select the file. IOS 4.2.1 ipsw you downloaded and run the recovery;
6. At some point, iTunes will return the error 1013. Close the popup and let iTunes open. Your device will be in recovery mode (screen with the cable and iTunes logo) but do not worry, everything is normal. However, if you receive a different error (eg 16xx), try to enter DFU mode and run the guide from step 4. If the recovery is not closed properly and returned error 1013, it means that your baseband has been updated. In this case, you can not run the release of your device until the Dev Team or anyone he did not issue a new release for the baseband. This error will happen only if you will not start correctly the TTS Server ;
7. Enter DFU mode. To do this: Hold down the Home button and power button for 10 seconds, then release the power button and keep pressing the Home button for about 30 seconds. If iTunes will recognize the device in recovery mode, you will be entered correctly in DFU mode;
8. download GreenPois0n RC5 Beta 2 from this link and follow the guidance of iphonegeekers to jailbreak 4.2.1 IOS;
9. Once you start your device, you can use to run the ultrasn0w unlock the baseband, as it has not been updated. To use ultrasn0w can follow this guide.
If the procedure is successful, you will have your device properly updated to 4.2.1 and unlocked with baseband iOS 1:59:00. How useful and absolutely essential for iPhone users.
